Anita Smith-Welds is a Senior Investigator, Maladministration for the Office of the Ombudsman Cayman Islands.
As a seasoned professional, Anita has a background of more than twelve years of experience in the field of Human Resources Management, both locally and in the United States. Anita exudes a passion for knowledge and a desire to help others. She has a resolute drive for “fairness” and uncovering of truths.
With a Masters in Adult Education from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s in Communications from Barry University. Anita has sought to give back to her community through her love for helping others. Over the past three-plus years at the Ministry of Education, Anita, through exceptional operations and project management, singlehandedly ensured the continuation of business for the Ministry during the 2020 Pandemic.
Anita’s background of accomplishments include time spent during the late ’80s to mid-’90s as an Immigration Officer where she investigated illegal work-related incidents.
A well-known person in her community, Anita is known for her love for cooking and feeding others. Her future goal is to accomplish a Law Degree for which she aims to contribute more to her community through the practice of Employment Law.
